5 Things u need2know

  1. An employer can get into trouble if they do not consider you for a job because of your sex, race, disability, religion or belief or sexual orientation.
  2. Your rights as employee at a firm increase the longer you work there.
  3. Workers over 16 years old are entitled to a minimum of four weeks' paid holiday a year.
  4. Rules introduced in October 2004 mean that everybody is entitled to a minimum wage.
  5. If you are unsure of your rights, talk to your employer or contact your local Citizens Advice Bureau.
